Chisholm Catholic College, a vibrant co-educational Catholic secondary school, came into being in 1989 as a result of a decision to amalgamate the two existing Catholic secondary schools in Bedford. These were St Thomas Aquinas College, a girls' school established by the Dominican Sisters in 1955 and St Mark's College since 1936. On first amalgamation, the school was on two campuses, but in 2003 it moved to the one campus on Beaufort Street.
The College motto is 'Grow in Christ' and has an outstanding record for moral, religious and academic education, aiming to promote the formation of the full humanity of the student. A rounded personal development is sought with sporting activities, music, drama and the fine arts providing the balance.
We have a dedicated and dynamic group of highly-qualified, experienced and dedicated professionals who work together tirelessly to develop our students to their fullest potential. Newly graduated teachers are welcome and are nurtured by Heads of Learning areas and other experienced teachers.
The College is well served by modern, state of the art and outstanding facilities which cater for a wider range of learning. Our beautiful surrounds are excellently maintained, to create a pleasant environment to work in. Staff are provided with well fitted office spaces, access to computers and comfortable staff rooms.
Emerging from Chisholm College are young men and women, qualified in their area of expertise and with strong Christian values and a highly developed sense of social responsibility.
