Curtin University of Technology is a dynamic and innovative Australian university and a leading provider of education in the international arena.
Curtin became Australia's first University of Technology in 1987 after two decades operating as the Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT). Today it is the largest and most multi-cultural university in Western Australia, with more than 40,000 students, and Australia’s third largest international student population. This cultural diversity adds a rich dimension to our University atmosphere, and provides our staff and students with a unique international outlook.
Curtin is committed to innovative, flexible and relevant teaching and learning that is closely aligned with high impact research and development. In pursuit of this we have established a strong track record of working with industry, government and community to understand their needs and to provide long-term benefits.
Curtin offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses across four faculties: Curtin Business School, Science and Engineering, Health Sciences and Humanities. Some of our key strengths lie in health, energy and resources, business, technology and sustainability. Our courses have an applied, practical focus that emphasise the importance of industry links.
Our Centre for Aboriginal Studies is recognised as a national leader. We have the highest enrolment of Indigenous students anywhere in the country as part of our commitment to Indigenous education and culture.
The University is fundamentally committed to providing regional education within Western Australia through campuses and education centres spread across the state including Esperance, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Margaret River, Northam, Port Hedland and Albany. Our Western Australian School of Mines in Kalgoorlie and the Muresk Institute in Northam have a long history of education in this state.
Curtin’s research institutes and centres represent groupings of research excellence in our key areas. We are either home to, or participating in, many Australia-wide initiatives including industry-funded centres, state-funded centres of excellence in science and innovation, and cooperative research centres.
Curtin offers a flexible and highly rewarding work environment including up to 17 per cent employer superannuation contribution, generous study assistance and family friendly work practices. Our attractive salary packaging scheme can be tailored to the individual from a number of attractive options.
