Our products are family favourites and include; soups, baked beans, spaghetti, seafood, condiments, sauces, infant foods, frozen meals, frozen vegetables, frozen desserts, canned meats and canned meal solutions.

We also supply the Australian hospitality industry with quality products and we are the preferred supplier of sauces to many leading quick service restaurants.

Heinz first opened for business in Australia in March 1935 from an ex-piano factory in Bendigo Street, Richmond - a residential area near central Melbourne. Heinz London paid for improvements to the site and production commenced on 1 August that year. The first product was horseradish - and while the 31 men and 29 women in the factory worked on bottling this product, Heinz installed canning equipment. The first canned goods were produced on 1 October 1935 - baked beans in tomato sauce. This was quickly followed by canned spaghetti, and a range of soups.

Today our Australian business directly employs more than 600 people, including some 500 in our rural manufacturing centres of Girgarre, Echuca and Wagga. Each centre focuses on excellence in a particular variety of food products – Girgarre for tomato products, Echuca for baby food, and Wagga for meat products.

We have a corporate head office in Melbourne and sales offices in WA, SA, NSW and QLD.
