Peace Lutheran College is owned and operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia, Queensland District, and is part of the system of Lutheran Schools in Queensland. It practices the confessions of the Lutheran Church of Australia. As well as serving Lutherans in Far North Queensland, Torres Strait Islands, Papua New Guinea and further afield, Peace is a College with a mission to share the good news of salvation through the saving grace of our Lord Jesus with both fellow Christians of other denominations as well as those of non-Christian backgrounds.

Christian Ethos informs relationships between staff and students and shapes the whole College environment. Regular Christian worship and Christian Studies is part of the curriculum.

Individuals matter. Students are allowed and encouraged to develop their individuality within appropriate bounds. Core values of mutual respect, personal responsibility, acceptance of difference, consideration and forgiveness and reconciliation are practiced at Peace.

Peace is co-educational committed to educating boys and girls together.

A tri-campus College, Junior (Prep – Year 5), Middle (Years 6-9) and Senior (Years 10-12), Peace provides a seamless education.

We offer a unique learning program that caters for the individual needs and abilities of our students in the areas of Maths, Writing and Reading through Journey Groups (Years 1-9) which is aligned with the structure of the Queensland Studies Authority curriculum. Our Middle Schools aims to recognize the intellectual, social and physical needs of students in their early adolescent years and help them develop productive and affirming relationships with adults and peers.

Peace has a proven record of Academic Excellence. Our students are prepared for Tertiary Entrance and other study options that include TAFE and Workplace traineeships.

Being a boarding College, Peace attracts students from outside of the Cairns area, adding to its multi-cultural flavor. These students, bringing their respective backgrounds to Peace, enrich the lives of the day students by sharing their experiences and ways of life. In a similarly reciprocative manner, day students too enrich the lives of boarders.
