Nursing agencies

Nursing agencies can either help place you in a job, or you can work for the agency as a relief nurse across a number of facilities. Agency nurses are not employed by a hospital, but are employed by the agency that ‘loans’ them to the hospital.

Agency nursing can allow you more flexibility to pick and choose your shifts, and sometimes pays above normal rates. The downside to working for an agency is that you can’t always choose where your shifts will be, and it can be difficult adapting to a new workplace every shift.
