SEEK Advertised Salary Index - February
The SEEK Advertised Salary Index (ASI) measures the growth in advertised salaries for jobs posted on SEEK in Australia. This report provides a snapshot of the monthly data. The next quarterly SEEK ASI report will be released in May and will contain industry and state trends.
NATIONAL ADVERTISED SALARY TRENDS
Advertised salaries rose 0.4% m/m in February, extending the run of monthly growth above 0.3%. This was the fastest monthly increase since October.
Annual advertised salary growth continued to accelerate, reaching 3.9% y/y in February.
SEEK Chief Economist, Dr Blair Chapman says:
“Advertised salary growth has remained above 0.3% month-on-month for the past six months, lifting annual growth to 3.9% year-on-year. On an annualised basis, growth over the past six months has reached 4.2% – the fastest six‑month pace since early 2024.
“However, the faster advertised salary growth is unlikely to feel like much relief for many households. Consumer prices have started growing quickly again, mortgage costs are increasing, and global uncertainty has grown in ways that are likely to drive many household costs higher even faster than they are now.”
