Santa Maria College is a Years 5-12 Catholic school for girls, both day and residential, offering a quality education inspired by Jesus Christ and the vision of Catherine McAuley, with a commitment to living out the values of Mercy, Compassion, Justice, Service and Excellence.
Nestled in picturesque gardens overlooking the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia, Santa Maria was founded in 1938 by the Sisters of Mercy. From the outset, the College was renowned for its innovative style and progressive teaching and learning methods. In 2009, we are still dedicated to providing a unique educational experience that combines academic excellence with faith, compassion and service. We have an enrolment of 1160 students and close to 200 staff, including both teaching and non-teaching staff.
Students and staff of Santa Maria enjoy vibrant and modern facilities and are eagerly awaiting the opening of the new building development in early 2010. The new building will include a double story library, with Learning Plaza and Resource Centre, new Food Technology and Information and Communication Technology facilities and an upgraded staff area complete with 180 degree views across the Swan River and Perth skyline.
