The Banking and Financial Services industry led the way with the fastest-growing salaries on SEEK – increasing by 4.2% year-on-year to $96,588.
NAB Economist Kaixin Owyong explains that salary growth aligns with broader economic trends. The increased regulatory environment within financial services, for example, could be leading to a growing demand in compliance departments.
“There appears to be strong growth in advertised salaries for compliance-related roles,” says Owyong. “Compliance and risk roles recorded a 6% rise to $122,741.”
Salaries in Manufacturing, Transport and Logistics grew by 3.8% to an advertised average of $76,163.
Owyong says that much of the growth occurred in warehouse-related roles. “Increased warehousing activity could be related to the ongoing shift to online retail,” she says.
Community Service and Development followed with 3.7% growth to an advertised average of $77,262.
“It’s likely to be driven by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), given the 4.8% increase in the average advertised salary of aged and disability support workers,” says Owyong.
