Tasks and duties
- Meeting with clients to agree project scope and timeline.
- Writing and managing the distribution of surveys.
- Briefing research teams and managing survey staff.
- Managing project budgets.
- Conducting qualitative, quantitative and ethnographic research, such as surveys, interviews, focus groups and observations.
- Using statistical modelling software.
- Organising, managing and storing data and information.
- Analysing data and interpreting patterns.
- Writing reports and presenting data-driven results.
- Consulting with clients on how to best utilise the findings.
Market Researchers specialise in either quantitative or qualitative research. Quantitative research involves working with data and codified information that can provide quick results. Qualitative research involves collating and analysing opinions, and can help provide deeper insights behind the statistics unearthed by quantitative research and may take a lot longer.
