How to become a Business Systems Analyst

There is no prescribed career pathway to becoming a Business Systems Analyst, but there is usually a formal training component, as well as some on-the-job experience.
  1. Complete a degree in information technology, information systems or business information systems such as a Bachelor of Business Information Systems.
  2. Alternatively, if you hold a business or non-technical degree, pursue a short course or certification in business analysis.
  3. Many Business Systems Analysts specialise in a particular industry sector, such as finance, procurement, IT, human resources, or communications.
