The challenges

You are only a number. 711 do not practice what they preach!

The good things

Immediate people you work with are what makes your day

The challenges

Moving to agile ways of working saw a large amount of long term, highly experienced people being made redundant yet kept a lot of the monkeys. Recognition not given on merit rather on who you know or which group of people you mingle with. No empathy / sympathy from management when it comes to personal issues. Instead they come across as annoyed that you need to take time off

Field merchandising.

Apr 2021

Field merchandising.

Victoria, Australia
7 to 8 years in the role, current employee

I feel we are looked after when we are needed most and not really appreciated for what we have done in the long run.

The good things

I have met very good people working in the merchandising role and have learnt how franchisees work in the corporate world. Sometimes, the option to pick work hours is a bonus (though not always).

The challenges

Not being assigned work in a fair manner due to many internal reasons and when work is assigned out, they’re not always fairly assigned.

The challenges

No incentive for working over-night shifts or public holidays (you get paid weekend rates, no more), can be difficult to have your opinions heard.

Best company I have ever worked for

The good things

Every day is different and there's always something to do. Everyone from your store manager upwards cares about your experience. The company has a lot of methods to make information and updates about what's happening avalible to you. Theres a very calm and humble vibe to things. When something doesn't go to plan it's not the end of the world, everyone is confident and willing to help each other out.

The challenges

Sometimes you have a lot to accomplish on your shift and 99% of the time you are by yourself and have little to no crossover time with someone else. When you push yourself and are able to acheive and finish your work load its a really good feeling.

The challenges

The management team are rude. There’s no room for development and if you aren’t friends with the higher ups you’ll move no where. The team at most stores is a toxic one. There are absolutely no perks to working for 7/11 no discounts ect
