Rewarding job, and supportive team culture

The good things
Working in the research and assessment team at AEIOU is highly rewarding, as the team values professional growth and is extremely supportive. Coming from a psychology degree, hoping to complete masters, I have found that the Assessment Coordinator position is the perfect way to gain experience before delving into further study. Working with children is challenging, but extremely rewarding and every day is different to the last!
The challenges
It can be mentally draining to complete challenging assessments, however the support within the research and assessment team and opportunities to debrief and reflect are great for developing clinical judgement. Another challenging aspect can be communicating across teams, however this can be a challenge in any workplace where you have a variety of people from different professions working together.

My experience has been a good challenge, a rewarding experience and one that has initiated personal and professional growth in my own life.

The good things
Everyone is really committed to helping the children in our service and unite behind AEIOU's vision and the cause. I find my immediate team and also the wider team to be supportive, friendly and approachable. The culture is one that is motivated by employee recognition and continuous improvement. I feel valued working at AEIOU Foundation and really truly feel that the company offers a lot of benefits to their people as well. I feel genuinely cared for as an employee.
The challenges
The continuous improvement (in order to better our processes and service to the children) can be challenging as the day to day aspects of the role change to meet new objectives.

Challenging but rewarding

The good things
Structured work environment, clinic based model, great teamwork, decent salary (recently improved), support from peers and seniors, no pressure to work overtime.
The challenges
Challenges implementing therapy and upskilling childcare educators to deliver complex therapy programs. There have been cultural and management challenges from central office impacting the centres but it is improving.
