Central hr are abysmal. If you are ex-military DO NOT work here. They do not honour the conditions in their enterprise agreement. Also they are resistant to change. If you are a high flyer and like improving processes for efficiency again don’t work here as they are reluctant for change.

The benefits outweigh the negatives for the most part.

The good things

The campus is beautiful. The location is good being close to the city and the lake. Most staff are friendly and many departments are quite flexible (but not all) with work days/hours.

It can be difficult to progress past a certain career level, as they tend to hire external people for senior positions rather than promote the local staff who have more tailored experience and corporate knowledge. The salaries are not competitive with the public service.
