About Australian Red Cross Blood Service
One in three Australians will need blood in their lifetime. At the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, we’re entrusted with collecting, processing and delivering this vital supply. We also deliver world-class research and provide expertise in diagnostic, transplantation and other clinical services.
We’re proudly in the business of saving lives.
Australia needs blood 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Every year we collect 1.4 million blood donations thanks to our 495,000 voluntary donors. Our state-of-the art manufacturing facilities in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, test, process and deliver the blood to hundreds of healthcare providers around the country.
Supplying blood safely to 23 million people across 7 million square kilometres is a huge medical and logistical exercise. Our ongoing challenge is to ensure that blood products are efficiently collected and supplied, at the right time and of the best quality to meet demand.
In addition to roles in our blood donor centres and manufacturing facilities, we offer a wide range of career opportunities such as management, specialist and professional roles in our national head office located in Melbourne.
Here at the Blood Service you can be proud that your work really contributes to saving lives.
