Terrible

The good things
The general staff members of the business are amazing. They make my role rewarding and fulfilling
The challenges
Management and HR do not care about their employees. One thing to remember is that while you may get along with the rest of the business, your team is a detriment to you.

A diverse company with lots of opportunities that does great things.

The good things
A great company with an honourable purpose. Great culture and management that genuinely cares for its employees. Benefits that out rate other organisations.
The challenges
People not understanding the importance of the coal industry to the local community and NSW economy. Sometimes needing to deal with uneducated views and opinions from friends and family. We look after people and do a great job of it! It is sometimes not easy but well worth the effort.

The good things
Not many good things front line staff are fantastic but Mangers and up are only interested in self presevation
The challenges
A company that is still stuck in the 80's will not change, leadership team has no direction

1 star was generous - would have ZERO if this was an option. An extremely high distrust of leaders at the highest management level of the company. An organisation that is best avoided for so many bad reasons this space cannot accommodate

The good things
Good lower level operating staff with good work ethics at the regional sites of Coal Mines Insurance.
The challenges
Coal Mines Insurance staff at the operating level face an uphill continuous struggle to trust senior management due to their blame-culture and military-management style. CMI senior management including the Coal Services yop senior management team have their self-interest and preservation as the top priority.

Toxic and stressful. Would give 0 stars if i could. 5 star reviews here are obviously left by management or for the wrong company.

The good things
Reasonable salary. 5 weeks of leave a year.
The challenges
Toxic workplace culture, starting right at the top. Outdated processes and an expectation of long work hours well beyond the EA. Limited WFH flexibility for claims teams because management doesnt trust them to do the job at home. The leaders actively ignore both reality and bad news. Hard workers get taken advantage of.

it’s a no-win situation. senior leaders such as the GMs are controlling and untrusting. they publicly support something, actually taking no action.

The good things
my claims lead and other co-workers.
The challenges
line management not empowered to do anything except say 'no' to their employees, customers and other parts of the business.
