Coles group is a great company for people looking to get a good start within their retail career.

The good things
Opportunity to further workplace and interpersonal skills. Coles employees are given the opportunity to create and foster many personal and professional relationships.
The challenges
Working within retail requires lots of crunch time and puts stress on employees. These challenges are often overcome through conversation and action.

My experience at Coles has been overwhelmingly positive, featuring supportive management, a vibrant and diverse team environment, and satisfied customers.

The good things
Working at Coles has been a genuinely joyful experience for me. Both my customer manager and the latest store manager at Eastgarden have been incredibly supportive. The environment among my colleagues has been one of diversity and inclusion, with team members coming from different departments and backgrounds. I've known them all and have enjoyed spending time with the team. Overall, I've had no negative experiences with management or working with customers. My regular customers have been particularly pleasant, and serving them has felt more like interacting with family or friends, which has brought me a great deal of happiness.
The challenges
Facing aggressive customers and dealing with theft can indeed be challenging, but I've been able to handle these situations effectively by following the training I received.

Excellent career building opportunity job under the right management

The good things
Great team once formed, communication with good managers and superb employee benefits program.
The challenges
Having situations caused by other colleagues resolved asap, workplace drama not being stopped immediately and being asked to come into work to cover for others too much when having a day off.

A very enjoyable yet challenging experience!

The good things
The people I've worked alongside, flexible hours, management and the sense of community have made working at Coles a very enjoyable experience!
The challenges
Oftentimes you can get overwhelmed by the amount of work you need to complete in a relatively short time frame, at least in the department in which I worked. However, working alongside good coworkers definitely helped leeway some stress.
