Would recommend this company as an employer of choice and ahead of their game in the banking industry

The good things
Really great culture, lots of fun social events, innovative company on the leading edge, very strong brand.
The challenges
Experienced a couple of not so nice senior managers which led to me resigning

Its a high stress, fast paced, ever changing environment. A lot of expectations to meet the unrealistic KPI's. The culture can be toxic & with the wrong team leader, horribly unsupportive.

The good things
Great colleagues. Good pay.
The challenges
Meeting unrealistic kpis in particular meeting AHT. Also, completing all the extra tasks that are expected of you in addition to taking calls (ie: keeping up to date with the constantly changing procedures, contributing to continual improvements, monthly checkings, timesheets, coaching requests, online learnings, case managements, complaint handling & escalations, hosting team meetings & other ad hoc jobs that get thrown in which you are expected to complete). Also, if you get stuck on a call it affects your compliance scores!

Terrible work culture.

The good things
Wouldn't recommend anything about working at Bankwest or Commonwealth Bank to anyone.
The challenges
Too much micro-management No opportunity for advancement Inexperienced Leadership. Credit given to the wrong staff for ideas to management Unrealistic/Impossible KPI's that leaves employees chasing their tails day by day. Ridiculous excuses made on employees reviews to lower the annual bonus.

Fantastic autonomy for professional roles and mature agile technology teams.

The good things
Most management dont micromanage, they give a lot of autonomy. The tech teams have a well understood agile way of working. Governance overheads are kept to a minimum.
The challenges
Lack of clearly defined strategy, often lost in 'bank speak' and vague statements. Most of the executive leadership that were non-bankers have left the business so likely to revert to traditional banking management.
