Voluntary Area Coordinator'There is no greater joy than to lend a hand to those in need.'Howar1 to 2 years in the role, current employee

The good things

This is a voluntary position delivering meals to people who are in need. It is great to feel that you are helping others and not expecting any rewards. I make you feel good about yourself by helping others in the community that are in need. The benefits and perks are the other wonderful volunteers that you go out with that have given up some of their time to help those in need and the wonderful clients that have a wealth of information on the past and the rich lives that they have lived plus the occasional home grown fruit and vegetables that they have surplus of.

The challenges

The challenge is that sometimes the people you see just want to chat as they are often lonely and isolated but you cant stay on to long as you have to move on because other people need their meals as well. So the challenge is to spend sometime making them fee valued.
