Human Resources Specialist

Shocking beyond belief

The good things
Nothing much, some intelligent, committed people who you can talk to, but who are fearful of management
The challenges
The most toxic part of this organisation is the Human Resources Dept and Organisational Development. Cruel irony given that they are charged with people strategy and culture

The worst workplace culture I have experienced to date.

The good things
The employees and the diversity of the students
The challenges
Extremely poor management coupled with terrible communication. People expect the worst from leadership and this has become normal. I honestly do not know why anyone would want to work here.

Administration Role

Management is weak and ineffective with little if any support.

The good things
The campus and some co-workers
The challenges
Feedback from management is mostly negative. A word beginning with b (which is not permitted for some bizarre reason) is rife.

Manager
Oct 2020
Victoria, Australia
5 to 6 years in the role, former employee

Pockets of trying to work for the betterment of students despite an absence of leadership. Anyone talented leaves or is deemed as difficult and forced out.

The good things
Nice campus, lots of trees and animals.
The challenges
Senior Management is extremely poor. Executive Level mediocrity and groupthink leads to mediocrity being accepted as the norm. A university with huge potential but it won't happen with the current rusted on VC and VP Team.
