Customer Service Role

Wollongong NSW 2500
3 to 4 years in the role

I would not recommend this place to anyone. They keep hiring because of an extremely high turnover rate. The payrate is very low and work is unfairly stressful.

The good things
Some people were nice and supportive and friendly.
The challenges
No transparency in communication between workers and management. Unrealistic KPIs. The employees favoured by the management will get better positions. Extremely low pay.

Worst place I've ever worked in don't do it

The good things
The people were friendly, most of them minus a couple
The challenges
Being happy in a place that you know has a high staff turnover and being paid a low wage for a high stress job

Rare to see more than 1 person from a training group make it to the 1 year mark.

The good things
Management team is so supportive and kind
The challenges
ATO Debt area. Take a guess at how friendly 90% of the calls are?

Challenging and stressful for all the wrong reasons

The good things
You get to work with some nice people and occasionally they throw an ok party or pizza lunch
The challenges
Work life balance sucks if you’re full time. New rules and policy’s for the Myer campaign each shift it feels like and it’s a lot to remember. You are the first person customers speak to so they can be very frustrated and angry. If you’re a casual you get very low hours if it’s not Christmas period

An opportunity from Probe and its fantastic admin, non judgemental and personal appreciation from the boss himself was something I never experienced, so sad to have left.

The good things
Worked at West Perth and was amazed at the diversity, multicultural and gender acceptance, including opportunities for older employees. Fabulous team assistance and beautiful people. The best place I've had the privilege to work for.
The challenges
Training was extensive, however, the best way is jumping into it and loving the customers interactions.

After a few years, I am used to the job and working from home is pretty nice, the job isnt perfect but its better than being unemployed. During covid, the role or the job didnt get effected so that was a plus.

The good things
Flexible with work hours and applying for leave, the people that you work with and get to know are good
The challenges
In some areas of the business, understaffed

it was fine, it wasn’t phenomenal but i am thankful for the experience

The good things
over-time pay and public holiday pay is nice some mangers and supervisors are extremely friendly + helpful the work itself can be taxing but rewarding because of the positive impact you can make on someone’s life
The challenges
management is a disaster, the chain of command is near non-existent late notice about everything (ie. work stations moving around, new system updates etc) lack of organisation — never knowing who is telling you the right information

A very poor experience.

The good things
Good central location in Wollongong.
The challenges
Constant micro-managing to try and uphold forever increasing KPI's, very low pay grade in comparison to the same role in other departments or organisations, expected to take on a large workload shortly after training, draining rotating roster that is made very hard to be flexible particularyl having to work till 8pm at some instances. Overall a bad experience and would not recommend for a long term job, more so as a short term experience getting job.

This should be a last resort position whilst you look for something more stable

The good things
It was great meeting new people and making friends.
The challenges
The company has changed a lot in the last 2 years. The benefits of working at Probe (Flexibility, Shift changes, Incentives) have all gone, making it harder for a work/life balance. The rotating hours can be draining. You get barely any support from management and processes are constantly changing It is hard to keep up and meet your KPIs. You get scolded for one mistake and they never let you live it down. The pay is definitely not worth the stress and angry callers you get daily.
