The good things

The pay rate is quite good, the organisation is thorough with its policies and it's documentation of client information. OHS and WHS checks are very thorough

The challenges

Far too much documentation ,some of which is unecessary and repetitive. Additional workload including an excessive amount of e.learning modules to be completed. A lack of flexibility when adhering to medication policies and an excessive amount of work for key workers in some residential dwellings. Some staff complaining of a lack of time to complete additional documentation and having to work additional hours without getting paid for it. In many staff's eyes the organisation is too concerned with protecting itself. More emphasis should be placed on skills based training and recording of this information. More emphasis should be placed on supporting regular casual staff and giving them the opportunity to become permanent staff members.
