Project Officer

Adelaide SA 5000
1 to 2 years in the role, current employee

Working at Serco has been a wonderful experience so far with plenty of career development and trajectory, overall a great and inclusive place to work!

The good things
I enjoy the flexible working arrangements allowing for working from home bringing a greater work/life balance. I have also enjoyed my career progression starting as a graduate and utilising my skills learnt in my first 12 months to equip me for a project officer role.
The challenges
The biggest challenge I have found is navigating the complex internal structure of Serco & getting my head around exactly how each function works and how they are all interconnected.

The challenges
Isolation in Covid was hard on everyone but our business expanded to support governments changing needs. This was tough but regarding at the same time.

Customer Service Representative
Mar 2024
Varsity Lakes QLD 4227
7 to 8 years in the role, current employee

Grateful to be a part of the Serco family.

The good things
Training and Focus Sessions provided. Management appears to be open and approachable most times, activities during work hours and even after work hours, opportunity for overtime usually during Tax Time and a wide diversity of things to do in a day to complete your work day. It is true that you do not have to know anything about the subject matter, that is taught to you.
The challenges
Wait times for clients can be long and customer satisfaction seems to be the hardest part of the job. Some people just cannot be helped and many others are willing to allow you to assist and rectify their situation. Customer complaints, and bad phone calls on occasion, can be difficult and confrontational, but the company has things in place to overcome these obstacles. As well, some things you just don't know and they have support and specialists in place to assist in that area too.
