Youth Worker

I'm looking to push forward my education in order to increase my qualifications so I can find alternative employment. Looks like they win by pushing me out.

The good things
Prior to new management, everything was great. You had a say in your working schedule and never felt like you were walking on egg shells
The challenges
Now you are told when to work. You have no work life balance. With budget cuts they have forced YWs doing he daily cleaning including entering the Young peoples bathrooms. They are making things more challenging in the hopes of pushing out the original staff in order to bring in new staff. There is no flexibility unless you are part of the management team. They have lost 9 YWs in the past 6-8 months

Dont go there, it's not worth ruining your sense of worth.

The good things
The clients are great and very appreciative. Frontline staff are very dedicated.
The challenges
Management and the HR Department are problematic. This group does what it likes with no accountabilty. Resulting in huge staff turnover.

Don't work here - its not worth your mental health. The clients are rude, management don't check in (and don't care), colleagues are loud and disruptive. Horrible place to work.

The good things
The pay was the only good thing
The challenges
Everything was a challenge

Community Support Worker

Long term employee who loved the job until national model took over with little understanding to the complexity of state based relationships and managing staff, national staff do not support state staff

The good things
The corps officers are great. Supportive and understanding.
The challenges
Since going into a national framework the care to staff has disappeared…. To many egos present in upper management without regard to staff who have been there years
