Good place for some, but not if you don't like bureaucracy and layers upon layers of approvals.

The good things
Beautiful campus, facilities, perks and benefits. A lot of opportunity to move around with the diverse roles available, if you don't mind the complex ecosystem.
The challenges
The unnecessary amount of redtape, hierarchy and bureaucracy makes it hard to progress and complete projects. Siloed teams with senior management who have their own agendas creates a toxic environment to work in, no clear direction, frustrating meetings so feels hard to get value out of the role. High staff turnover/high amount of contract roles makes it difficult to know who's who and build strong rapport with some teams.

Management is micromanaging, a toxic work culture in the library.

The good things
The perks are great compared to other university libraries. The team members are nice easy to get along with and very helpful.
The challenges
The management is ruthless, controlling and unfriendly. They like to micromanage and keep a toxic environment in the team.

Impossible to advance your career.

The good things
Good perks, super and parental leave.

Rewarding organisation with real impact

The good things
A genuinely supportive team with a great collaborative culture and real opportunities for career development. Very rewarding being part of something bigger.
The challenges
There can be a lot of complex processes due to the size of the organisation, which can be a lot to learn as a new starter - but the nuances of the industry can definitely be learnt over time.
