Eye opening, changed my perspective on severity of some clients.

The good things
Great insight into Government departments. Great Professional development.
The challenges
Worked out of scope of role. No support from management. Unsafe home visits due to underlying client issues.

Encouragement to progress with in the organisation while providing tools required to succeed, couldn't ask for more.

The good things
Wellways is the first workplace I have ever worked in that allows me to bring my own personality to my job and workplace with out question most comfortable working environment I have ever worked in.
The challenges
Nothing, Wellways is flexible and worked with me to resolve any challenges that had arisen.

Working with corporate teams who live their values makes it so much easier to over come the challenges. Most of the people I interact with across Wellways are amazing and genuinely love their work. Bonus is a really healthy work-life balance and supportive, friendly teams.

The good things
Really passionate and skilled people, a supportive environment, appetite for continuous growth and a flexible work environment, salary packaging perks are great too!
The challenges
Like any large organisation there are always challenges. Consistency in regional operations and too many siloes - but this is changing and improving.

Don't go there.

The good things
It's a job. Onboarding was very different to what they promised in the interivew.
The challenges
A huge difference between what they promised and what they actually expected.

Inclusive and supportive workplace!!

The good things
Wonderful, supportive workplace - colleagues and managers always willing to share their knowledge and support you to grow. I’ve made some great friendships here.
The challenges
Workload does fluctuate dramatically due to a casual based workforce. You need to keep on top of things to not fall behind but as long as you do so, you’ll succeed.

Huge opportunities if you work hard but get out before management completely destroy your mental health and physical health.

The good things
Programs designed to support mental health recovery and they work. Lovely colleagues. Great career opportunity. The clients. Co workers.
The challenges
Senior leadership recruits talented, kind, professional, passionate people. They then destroy them by micro managing to the point people leave. If you mention an issue, you become the issue. Senior leadership are untouchable. It is clear in these reviews alone that higher management have an issue. Sad to see many staff unhappy.

It’s not you, it’s them

The good things
Consumers and starting point in your career
The challenges
Management is terrible and toxic. They are unqualified and unsupportive. They will place money before staff and consumers. They talk a lot of principles and values which aren’t reflected in practice

Yeah, nah. I wouldn't work there again.

The good things
Working with young people who appreciate the work you put in. One or two decent staff who 'get it."
The challenges
Supreme lack of empathy and general management skills from management. Lazy and/or incompetent leaders. Inconsistent practice. Non-therapeutic care. Poisonous staff.

Attracts passionate workers and then systematically destroys them.

The good things
The team I manage. Wellways attracts people who are passionate and caring. It’s what it does with them that is really sad.
The challenges
Senior Management actively discourages enthusiasm, out of the box thinking, initiative, and compassion. The wellways motto should be “you should care less”, because that’s the way staff are treated (and often what they are told verbatim). The more a person cares about themselves, their staff, their participants, and their community, the more likely they are to suffer and fail at this company.
