Garment Technician

Undervalued, overworked and poorly informed.

The good things
Early on, the company was great. Fluid, reactionary, diverse and hungry. Your job was varied and you tended not to be pigeonholed. You could work and delve into other areas without stepping on toes.
The challenges
Very fast paced. Very results focused, at the detriment of everything else. Very hierarchical, with little flexibility, and a tendency not to listen.

Micromanagement from head office.

The good things
The people I worked with made it enjoyable. The staff allowance and staff discount was good.
The challenges
Micromanagement from head office overseeing everything done at a state level. This causes undo stress on management which was rubbed of onto staff. Also high turnover of management and staff due to lack of support from head office as they are to busy micromanaging from another state. Poor incentives, such as terrible clothing allowances for large purchases.
