Communication is key to hybrid working
Setting up a successful hybrid working system requires various elements to come together. But one of the most important of these is communication.
“Communication is key for the hybrid working model to be successful,” says Chris Regan, Chief People Officer at Whispir. “It’s important to establish systems, policies, and frameworks to enable employees to work and speak to each other effectively from anywhere.“
WooliesX, the digital arm of Woolworths, hired more than 50 data scientists in 2021 and almost all of them were onboarded remotely.
“Our teams have embraced new ways of working and they want to continue to work flexibly,” says Ramachandran Radhakrishnan, General Manager Customer Analytics for AI & Data Science, WooliesX.
“However, they do place a high value on face-to-face connection and want to have opportunities to come together.” The right technology, digital tools, training and workspaces will foster those connections, Radhakrishnan says.
