Systems Administrator

At present, we are inviting applications for a customer-focused Permanent Full-Time Systems Administrator to join the close-knit team of friendly staff based at our iconic campus with stunning views over Sydney Harbour.    Reporting to the IT Manager, this is a varied and interesting role in a very unique working environment that would suit someone with an IT background in large schools.

 

The role:

  • Systems Administrator
  • Permanent Full-Time
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Preferred commencement ASAP, but negotiable
  • Responsible for the availability, capacity, security, stability, and performance of all systems and network infrastructure
  • Escalation point for Level 1 and 2 IT staff
  • Strategic development of future IT projects and processes at the School

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Prepared to commit to the goals of a Sacred Heart education
  • In possession of a valid Working with Children (WWC) number
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience in an ICT Infrastructure role
  • Ability to complete systematic analysis to solve problems independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers of variable levels of ICT literacy
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise individual tasks and follow through to completion independently
  • A working knowledge of networking technologies and the ability to configure Level 2/3 switches
  • Positive and upbeat demeanour with a 'can-do' attitude

 

Required technical skills:

  • VMware vSphere
  • SAN configuration & adminisitraion
  • Windows Server 2008 & 2012, including Active Directory, Exchange, SQL
  • Apple device deployment and management, Casper/JAMF Pro
  • Enterprise network switching configuration, Cisco
  • Enterprise wireless admin, Cisco
  • IT Security – design and admin, firewalls, webfilters, email filters
  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
  • Administration knowledge of Office 365
  • Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery
  • Scripting, especially Powershell
