A full-time opportunity has become available for a motivated and experienced HR Advisor. Based in Mulgrave this position will provide generalist HR support and guidance to department managers, whilst providing you with an opportunity to further develop your skills across core human resource activities.

About the role

We don’t want to sugar coat anything, so want to say upfront that we are a very busy small department and are seeking someone who can balance working autonomously as well as knows how to roll up their sleeves and be a team player when needed. In this jam-packed generalist role there will be no 2 days that will be the same, so a dull day will not be an option. A level-headed attitude is a must though.

Some on the job training will be provided however the successful applicant must have proven experience in the following key duties:

  • End to end recruitment of a diverse workforce (both blue and white collar roles)
  • Managing and processing relevant documents required throughout an employee’s life cycle
  • Assisting with process improvements and implementation of policies and procedures within HR
  • Understanding and interpreting relevant awards
  • Generating reports and statistical analysis of data
  • Providing advice and general counselling to employees on a confidential basis as required
  • Partnering and communicating effectively with department managers on various HR related areas including, recruitment, performance, terminations and OH&S
  • Coordinating employee programs including Wellbeing Program, Reward & Recognition Program and social events

To be considered for the position the ideal candidate must:

  • Possess a degree in the area of Human Resources with 4+ year’s demonstrated experience in HR in a large organisation
  • Have excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • Be highly organised with proven ability to maintain high degree of accuracy and work to strict deadlines
  • Have advanced computer skills especially Word and Excel
  • Have ability to maintain discretion and manage confidentiality
  • Have can-do attitude and ability to persevere
