Who we are

Studio Legal is a boutique law firm located in Windsor, Melbourne, practising in intellectual property, commercial, media, technology and entertainment law. We work with a variety of creatively driven individuals, businesses and entrepreneurs. We especially love working with new businesses and start-ups and watching their ideas come to fruition and seeing their businesses grow.

The position

Our firm is growing and we now have an opening for a Legal Administration Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis, 2 days per week.

This newly created role will report to the Office Manager and will see you working on a variety of administrative and legal tasks including:

  • Preparing quotes and trade mark proposals;
  • Preparing trade mark applications;
  • Monitoring emails and responding to enquiries;
  • Drafting basic correspondence;
  • Basic accounts duties (following up unpaid invoices, entering expenses etc.);
  • Maintaining spreadsheets;
  • Opening and maintaining files;
  • Collecting and distributing mail; and
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to gain hands-on experience working in a legal office, and will provide exposure to a variety of practice areas and interesting client matters.

(Knowledge of trade marks is not required and training will be provided).

About you

The right candidate is someone with a friendly and professional nature who is eager to learn, has a ‘can-do’ attitude, and a demonstrated interest in law and/or the creative industries. Your strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills and organisational skills will see you succeed in this role.

Previous experience working in office administration is required, and legal administration experience will be looked upon favourably. Applications from law students with administration experience looking for long term employment to support their studies are also welcomed.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally experienced in the use of Mac computers.

What we offer

Studio Legal has a unique culture that separates us from most law firms. We are all creatively-driven people, working with exciting clients and we think our office environment should reflect that! If you would like to be part of a small, friendly and supportive team, and also like to have fun at work and enjoy what you do, then we encourage you to apply!

How to apply

To apply, please send a covering letter outlining why you are suitable for the role, together with your CV to employment@studiolegal.com.au. Please note only successful applicants will be contacted.

No phone enquires or recruitment agencies please.
