The Role

The Sound & Production Technician provides the effective provision of audio, lighting and staging technical services to the teaching and learning activities in the performance spaces.

Under the supervision of the Sound & Production Team Leader, the Sound & Production Technician’s main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the efficient and effective set up and pack down of performance spaces
  • Report to the Sound & Production Team Leader any faulty or damaged equipment and arrange repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain an efficient control of stock and equipment
  • Provide accurate advice and guidance around the use of the performance spaces and relevant equipment
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Contribute to the achievement of departmental and organisational goals and strategic plans
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the department

 

What skills and experience should I have?

  • At least two years demonstrated previous experience in sound, lighting and staging production
  • Experience in technical operations within Performance Arts
  • Proficiency with project scheduling tools
  • Strong at collaborating with individuals and teams for the achievement of goals
  • Able to work under tight deadlines with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
