Audio Visual Service Technician (component level bench technician)

Our first priority is to understand the needs of our customers and then tailor a solution to meet those needs. Our engineering based approach has seen the company build an extensive prestige customer base, some of which are ANZ Stadium, NSW Parliament, The Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust, Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic and Athletic Centres, Taronga Zoo and the Domestic and International Terminals at Mascot.

We require the services of an experienced component-level Audio and Audio Visual Bench Technician to join our existing team of self motivated technicians in maintaining systems for our growing portfolio of high calibre clients. In this role you will be working in our building at Rhodes, a short 10 minute walk from the train station.

 

Your skills will include:-

  • an understanding of audio systems, including 100V line and low impedance systems
  • computer and networking knowledge as well as an understanding of the role of DSP in audio solutions
  • experience with AMX systems, Crestron systems and programmable DSPs
  • Electrical trade / license desirable

 

Tasks & Operations:-

  • Diagnose faults in audio and video equipment
  • Repair of customer’s audio and video equipment for redeployment in their premises.
  • Repair of company assets as required.
  • Carry out diagnosis and repairs of electronic units – unsupervised – to component level. Experience with professional audio, video, CCTV circuits and surface mount technology is desirable.
  • Be reliable, self-motivated and patient.
  • Multi-task and prioritise your daily work schedule.
  • Work unsupervised and meet deadlines whilst working well under pressure.
  • Report any unsafe work conditions that might occur.
  • Other duties as required

 

Skills & Training:-

  • Knowledge and understanding of electronic circuit theory and reading electronic schematics.
  • Ability to map out a circuit design and layout from product in hand.
  • Knowledge of Pro Audio Visual and Control systems, DSP Signal Processing, broadcast video, audio & video conferencing systems, sound reinforcement systems, media control systems etc.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with analogue and digital components and circuits.
  • Knowledge of Audio Networking protocols and systems an advantage
  • Knowledge of Acoustic measurement an advantage.
  • Must be able to research components on the internet and from manufacturers including sourcing substitutes.

Conditions: Remuneration package negotiable commensurate with qualifications, experience and track record.  4 weeks annual leave, 2 weeks personal carers leave.
