Administration Assistant

Venture Housing Company Ltd (Venture) provides safe and affordable housing options for Northern Territorians with a focus on key workers on low to moderate incomes. Venture also provides and manages Specialist Disability Accommodation and housing for seniors and is engaged in the delivery of housing development projects.  Venture Housing Company is a “For Social Purpose” (Not-For-Profit) company that incorporates highly commercial project management methodologies to deliver social outcomes.  

With exciting times and growth ahead, this is an important, front office role within our organisation. The Administration Assistant is a key member of the team with specific responsibility to assist the Executive Housing Manager in the day-to-day administration of the properties, tenancies, applicants, external contractors and service providers. The role also assists the Administration Manager in Board meeting preparation and other executive tasks.

The Administration Assistant is responsible for reception duties (in person and on the telephone) which requires excellence in customer service.  The role is a busy one with a portfolio of 172 new residential properties owned and a further 14 managed by Venture, and aspirations for further growth.

We are seeking an outgoing, flexible, ‘can do’ and unflappable Cert IV graduate in an administration- related field (e.g. business studies, office management, secretarial) who has an interest in Community Housing and the willingness to undertake further study in property management (supported by Venture), together with a high level of integrity, motivation and personal responsibility.

Based in the Darwin CBD, our office is a small one of motivated professionals with a high performance culture.  Performers will be appreciated, rewarded and will thrive but this is no place for passengers.

Essential to your success will be your strong communication (written and verbal), numerical and customer service skills.  You will possess attention to detail, sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, excellent spelling and grammar, a willingness to learn new software programs and be an empathetic and energetic people’s person.

You must possess a current Driver’s Licence and be prepared to undergo a Federal Police Check and Working with Children (Ochre Card) Check.
