People and Culture Officer (HR Coordinator)

We are currently seeking someone to join our small yet very busy HR team and help to provide support and guidance to our busy Resort-wide team. You will be covering a 12 month maternity leave contract. We are looking for someone who is pro-active and driven, with HR experience that can hit the ground running. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role is not a typical office job and you will be supporting the Managers/Supervisors in the operation daily.

Some of the duties will include being responsible for front-line end-to end recruitment and maintaining information databases. A focus of the role is to build a good rapport with the employees; prompting an open door policy and being present in the operation. We would like you to assist in developing and coordinating training sessions (internal and external). This is a fast-paced environment where you will need to multi-task and adapt easily. There is plenty of opportunities to learn and grow in the role and Company, including being a part of the preparation of a new hotel opening set for late 2018.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A qualification in Human Resources Management or similar.
  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Relevant experience in developing and coordinating internal training sessions.
  • A positive and can do attitude, ability to take ownership of work and a solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to effectively prioritise a busy workload and manage time efficiently.
  • A passion for exceptional customer service, problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • A high level of communication skills – willingness to assist all staff and provide a high level of empathy and support where required.
  • Knowledge of Timetarget and Micropay or similar programs and processing of Payroll.
  • An understanding of the Hospitality Industry Award conditions and Legislative requirements
  • Advanced administration skills – Excel, Word and Publisher.
  • Previous recruitment experience is highly regarded.
  • A sound understanding of staff performance management.
