Arts & Cultural Coordinator

Purpose of the Role

Based in Chinchilla or Miles, you will be responsible for empowering community groups and building community capacity across the Western Downs to become recognised and celebrated leaders in the Arts. Along with managing the Arts and Cultural team, you will play a pivotal part in identifying and delivering innovative arts opportunities and will be responsible for building upon partnerships with key stakeholders at a local and state level.

Reporting to the Communities Manager, you will:

  • lead the team and implement strategies to maximise growth in Arts and Culture (including visual, performing and public art along with supporting heritage, galleries and museums);
  • empower creativity and capacity within the Western Downs to better engage with the Arts community and other key stakeholders;
  • identify value-add opportunities that provide remarkable arts and cultural experiences to Council's and the community's annual calendar of events;
  • hold a relevant Degree or Diploma in Business, Arts, Creative Industries, Public Relations or another similar field, or be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience; and
  • have proven experience in the management of staff, for the delivery of community programs and projects.
