Your new company

This large not for profit social services provider work across NSW to support children, young people and their families through a variety of services which cater for a range of social welfare needs. Your new role

You will join the OOHC program as a Child & Family Practitioner based in Werrington. Your new organisation is embracing the NSW reforms regarding permanency in OOHC and that is revolutionising practice. Working in a fast paced environment you will provide targeted holistic child protection case management and intervention for children in the OOHC system. You will be responsible for case management of the child who has experienced complex trauma which may include exposure to domestic/sexual violence, drug or alcohol misuse, mental health or intellectual disabilities or lack of parenting skills. You will ensure the home and support network contributes to the child’s development and will keep the well-being and best interests at the centre of everything you do.

You will join a welcoming team of social workers and case managers led by an incredibly supportive and knowledgeable manager who is committed to ensuring a quality service for children and families. You will be set you up for success from day 1 with a buddy & structured orientation and regular supervision and group/individual coaching with a practice support team.

  • There are 2 Full Time Permanent positions available based in Werrington - There are also positions based in Liverpool

    What you'll need to succeed
  • You must have 2 years experience working with vulnerable families and young people using trauma informed practice
  • You will need to hold a tertiary level qualification in Social work, psychology or a relevant field and must hold a WWCC
  • You will be solution focused with a resilient and positive character who is comfortable having tough conversations
  • You will be comfortable participating in on call/duty roster when required
  • You will be comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including the local Aboriginal Community
  • You must have a NSW drivers licence
