Construction Project Manager

We are a Family Based Construction Company in Mitchell ACT, Established 1998. Building predominately Residential projects and some Commercial projects.

We are looking for a Project Manager who is suited to work in a small team and who has experience in the construction industry. The successful applicant will work closely with both the sales and construction team to ensure project delivery within client expectations.

Projects will include residential and commercial contracts. The role is Office based, but you will be required to travel to site and suppliers from time to time.

We are looking for a bright, motivated person with strong Construction Project Administration, Customer service, Organisational and Time Management skills. This person will also need to have good communication, excellent computer skills and interpersonal abilities.

Specific tasks include:·        

  • Liaise with foreman/site manager
  • Provide and issue instructions to trades
  • Work closely with sales/estimating team on requests for tender
  • Manage Programmes 
  • Coordinate trades as per programme from commencement to completion of project
  • Procurement of Materials
  • Coordinate site measures, deliveries and installations
  • Coordinate variations and issue change notices
  • Manage Extensions of time (EOT)
  • Submit Requests for Information (RFI)
  • Conduct regular site progress inspections 
  • Cross reference all deliveries with relevant purchase orders
  • Process and approve invoices
  • Manage project updates to  clients on a weekly basis 
  • Manage defect rectification
  • Conduct site inspection with clients
  • General office duties and housekeeping
  • Manage certificate of occupancy and handover
  • Negotiate rates and pricing with trades and suppliers
  • Review project budgets 

Applicants must have experience within the building industry.
