Employment Retention Mentor - Bundaberg

The Employment Retention Mentor is the primary contact for youth and employers connecting with the Empowering Youth Program E+.  The Employment Retention Mentor will provide support to young people and employers and work towards maintaining the employment of the young person.

What are we looking for a Full-time (contract) Employment Retention Mentor to:

  • Promote the program across the region and actively sign up eligible participants;
  • Support, advocate, negotiate and mediate for young people to maintain their current employment or to find alternate employment opportunities; and
  • Provide industrial relations support to employers having difficulties/ issues with young employees.

All about You ...

  • Are an energetic and proactive person who would love to promote and market a truly beneficial program to a wide audience in order to generate interest and leads, with the proven ability to convert leads into results.
  • Have a genuine interest and passion in the youth sector, and relevant life experience or an understanding of the barriers to maintaining employment.
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and relate to young people and employers alike.
  • Can engage, influence and identify goals, strengths and obstacles for your clients and develop strategies and progress plans tailored to meet each client's needs.
  • Have the ability to provide intensive practical support via phone, face to face, or via live chat.
  • Have the knowledge and ability to build/ maintain a productive network of community contacts in the region and are proactive in utilizing these for the benefits of clients.
  • Are a solutions focused person with a keen ability to think outside the box to achieve goals for your clients.
  • Have the ability to maintain accurate administrative records with a proficiency in IT skills.
  • Have proven ability to understand and implement contract requirements and guidelines, and the drive to meet monthly KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Have an understanding of Australian Industrial Relations System, human resources and related legislation, or the ability to quickly acquire this.
  • Are prepared for the driving involved in this position within the regional area.
