About the role

Reporting to the Project Director, the newly created role of Business Manager will be in charge of managing, developing and maintaining a small team of Project Managers and Estimators that are responsible for ensuring that all our retail display projects continue to be delivered to our clients in a professional and timely manner.

The role demands strong leadership to oversee end to end project management across multiple simultaneous projects and a key KPI is to deliver within budget, which requires managing multiple work streams and internal departments.

As a Business Manager you will:

  • Oversee the successful delivery of all projects within the team to ensure project outcomes and solutions are delivered that are responsive to customer needs.
  • Manage the process to ensure projects are delivered within budget. This will require negotiation with and motivation of internal stakeholders who are not line reports to the role.
  • Develop a strong and constructive network with the sales team members, clients (on supply issues) and supply chain colleagues.
  • Provide expert advice and strategic input into the development of project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with internal policies, strategies and industry standards
  • Lead and manage the team across all facets of HR, performance, reporting, coaching and mentoring.
  • Display leadership skills and manage pressure in a resilient and constructive way.

To be considered for the position of Business Manager you will be expected to have: 

  • Experience in developing, managing and executing projects including print production, signage and hardware manufacturing is desirable yet not essential
  • Agility, flexibility and ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management, Commercial/Business Experience.
  • Proven experience in delivering multiple & simultaneous projects, on time and on budget
  • Demonstrated leadership in building high performance teams and supporting development through continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build and maintain high trust, and collaborative working relationships across a wide range of disciplines at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, effective negotiation skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Proactive and organised nature with high attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure and manage competing demands
  • Must be highly proficient in Project Management applications including Microsoft Project, Word and Excel. 

It is desirable that previous experience will have been gained within the print, retail/commercial shop fitting or signage industry and qualification/experience in Construction will put you ahead of other candidates.
