Marketing Coordinator - Sydney (full-time)

The German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) is seeking an enthusiastic Marketing Coordinator for its Sydney CBD office.

The German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) is the official representation of the German business and trade in Australia. The German Chamber promotes bilateral trade, advises German and Australian companies on market developments and supports the expansion of their business networks. As a not-for-profit organisation, the German Chamber has over 400 member companies from all industry sectors and organises numerous events, trade missions and conferences.

 

The main purpose of this role is to work proactively with the Events and Membership teams to support these two strategic areas of the business. This role will comprise both topical and administrative tasks and will suit someone with a strong background in writing, digital content and social media, ideally in a membership-based organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

Coordinate the Chamber's online and offline marketing activities;

  • Update and develop Chamber website, blog and social media channels;
  • Manage email marketing activities, including development of templates, monitoring subscribers, opening and click rates;
  • Produce graphic design work for all departments of the Chamber;
  • Coordinate and execute social media activities;
  • Support the updating and development of print and offline publications, including the Business News, member directories and annual reports;
  • Execute the PR/media strategy, including publication planning and coordination of all corporate communications with each department;
  • Acquire advertisers for online and offline publications;
  • Proactively liaise with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor market trends, identify collaboration partners and negotiate barter/ collaboration agreements in consultation with managers;
  • Film, edit and produce video content – e.g. testimonials, event reports;
  • Write copy for marketing materials including, landing pages, EDMs, forms, event reports, social channels, digital advertising; and
  • Identify opportunities and develop strategies for growth

You may occasionally be required to attend events outside of regular work hours.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills and personal attributes:

  • marketing qualifications and/or relevant experience;
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • a strong understanding of social media platforms
  • experience with website CMS and email platforms like MailChimp;
  • an eye for photography and video;
  • basic Photoshop / graphic design capabilities;
  • excellent English grammar and writing skills
  • German language skills and an affinity with German business / culture a plus
  • driven, proactive and happy to get involved in whatever is thrown your way!
