Assistant Category Manager

The Company

We are a large, successful beverage organisation with a strategic focus on building our exclusive brand portfolio within the domestic and international markets. As such, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Category Manager to join our Exclusive Brands team, assisting in sourcing and developing new brands for the company portfolio.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Category Manager – Private Labels and Exclusive Brands. You will be responsible for the development and management of your beverage portfolio, including sales and profit, product sourcing, trade partner relations and working closely with sales and replenishment.

Duties

  • Manage existing and new supply arrangements and negotiate pricing, volume, range, delivery lead times and order quantities.
  • Regularly liaise with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate service level agreements are met, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand business and consumer requirements and execute aligned category strategies.
  • Coordinate and implement strategies to increase KTC brand sales by liaising with the sales teams and this may involve conducting training sessions with them
  • Plan and coordinate end to end Production of existing and new products with our vendors
  • Perform analysis and reporting to support the Senior Category Manager

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Liquor industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in either a sales, category assistant or category analyst position
  • Working knowledge of technology and its applications in business
  • High problem-solving capability
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong Financial and Business Acumen
  • Able to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  • Detail orientated

Desirable

•      Work within a FMCG environment

•      Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing or related discipline
