Senior Reliability Engineer

Worsley Alumina is one of the largest and lowest-cost bauxite mining and alumina refining operations in the world. Worsley manages a bauxite mine, alumina refinery and port operations in Western Australia’s South West.

The Opportunity 

Reporting to the Superintendent Technical and Support, the purpose of this role is to provide technical expertise and engineering support to develop, deploy and continuously improve maintenance work management strategies for the Redside Operations at the Worsley Alumina Refinery, and contribute to the organisational direction by providing advice to the management on the business risks, technology and best practices. Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and analysis of equipment maintenance metrics to ensure compliance, promote maintenance best practice, identify improvement opportunities and minimise business risk
  • Assistance with prioritisation of safety, volume and cost projects and enable team resources to support high value projects
  • Developing metrics, processes and strategies to review equipment and maintenance performance
  • Utilising key performance data to inform decision-making and identifying and acting upon opportunities for increasing productivity and efficiency
  • Structured review of maintenance strategies, optimising equipment reliability and maintenance costs
  • Apply specific problem solving techniques and leverage the skills and experience of key stakeholders to solve problems
  • Analysing challenges from a business perspective, drive the change agenda to improve the long-term performance of the Operation
  • Engaging with stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective interactions between planning and execution
  • Encourage, mentor and coach peers and colleagues

About You  

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or other similar discipline
  • Ideally 10 years experience operating in a complex environment, leading and facilitating diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to select, develop, coach and mentor employees to improve engagement, diversity and organisational capability
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, connect and influence key stakeholders at all organisational levels

This role will be based at our Worsley Refinery, where our employees choose to live in the Bunbury, Collie or other nearby communities which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. The Opportunity
