Rapid Haulage is a South Australian family owned company providing transport and associated services since 1978. Our primary focus is the provision of outstanding service which has led to continual growth and is the reason we have opportunities available for Qualified Diesel Mechanics to join our workshop team.

Based primarily at our Largs Bay depot we are seeking exceptional individuals to fill casual and permanent positions of which, are flexible with starting and finishing times and with overtime available.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosis and rectification of problems via the vehicle systems including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics;
  • Access on-board self-diagnostic systems in the engine control unit (ECU) and interpret test procedures and results;
  • Interpret manuals and software to identify parts requirements;
  • Ensure work performed complies with industry standards, appropriate Australian Design Rules (ADR) and National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) requirements.

To be considered for these roles, candidates must possess:

  • A trade qualification or five or more years of industry experience;
  • The ability to operate effectively in a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships in a friendly and flexible manner;
  • Experience in a heavy vehicle workshop, performing service and repairs;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn;
  • Strong safety focus and commitment;
  • Your own tools and car license.
