Producer/Journalist, Sky News Business

Sky News Australia is looking for a full-time television producer to work in its fast-paced Sydney Business newsroom at News Corp HQ in Surry Hills. The candidate will work closely with the executive producer of the channel’s flagship evening program TICKY and the wider Sky News Business team, reporting to the Business Editor and Channel Manager.

TICKY is a nightly program ‘where business and politics meets’.  Hosted by the award-winning journalist Ticky Fullerton, the show features politicians, business leaders, economists and regulators commenting on relevant news of the day, market trends, innovation and global politics.

We are looking for someone who has abundant ideas, and a stellar work-ethic.   

The ideal candidate:

  • Must have a genuine interest in financial markets and business news, and able to draw upon and build networks
  • The role includes performing research, booking guests, writing scripts and sourcing vision, as well as big picture planning
  • The candidate must have proven experience in creating content, as well as possessing sound editorial style and judgement
  • Preference will be given to candidates with broadcast television experience, however sound news judgement and the ability to multi-task in a demanding work environment is of paramount importance
  • The successful candidate will be able to quickly switch priorities, work under deadline pressure and learn new technologies
  • The position allows for initiative and creativity in a fully integrated newsroom, and the opportunity to grow in the role
  • Experience with digital editing and ENPS is an asset
