Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. We aim to give every boy in our care the very best possible education in order to prepare him for life beyond school. We are a 'Learning Community', which encourages staff, students, past students and parents to involve themselves fully in all aspects of school life and to identify themselves with its values. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a great opportunity to join the HR department in its infancy.  Having been introduced in late 2016 there is a lot that needs to be done.  We are entering an exciting time of building, developing and implementing exciting new HR projects and initiatives.  Reporting into the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator has a key focus on recruitment and HR administration which includes the following:

Recruitment:

  • End to end recruitment for non-Teaching staff
  • Admin support to the HR Manager in senior level recruitment (interview set up etc.)

HR administration support with:

  • HR initiatives and projects to be delivered across the School
  • professional development for Support Staff
  • induction / onboarding
  • letters, position descriptions and other general correspondence and documentation
  • HR policies and procedures as and when required
  • the Probation Review process
  • the Health and Wellbeing program
  • HR engagement and culture activities as required
  • all filing / scanning of HR related documents
  • coordination of various meetings when requested 
  • the creation and maintenance of HR employee files for all non-Teaching staff
  • the coordination and completion of relevant HR surveys and reporting
  • Reception cover when required

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role, it is essential candidates have the following experience, skills and knowledge:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years proven experience in an HR administration and recruitment role 
  • Completed a tertiary qualification in Business - Human Resource Management or Industrial Relations 
  • Have availability to work 25-30 hours a week - during term time.  However, there will be times during busy periods where you are required to do occasional ad hoc work during the School holidays 
  • Previous exposure to working with Awards and associated legislation
  • Understanding of employment legislation, HR principles and best practices
  • Excellent computer skills & experience using an HRIS
  • Sound written and oral communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
