Technical Support Officer

The Role:

We are seeking motivated, energetic candidates that can bring previous IT experience to our Technical Operations Team in the role of Technical Support Officer. This key role will work across all areas within the organisation to provide onsite IT support and expertise to our teams working across our expanding clinical trial facilities.

As Linear operates across a 7-day week, Candidates must have the flexibility to work outside normal Mon- Fri business hours.  Some on call duties may also be required.

This role is full time on a 12 month fixed term contract. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure IT hardware is configured, maintained and available for use at all times.
  • Point of contact for all IT support requests – both internal and external.
  • Provide IT support in an efficient manner and consistently exceed customer expectations
  • Escalate support cases to external vendors as required and facilitate timely resolutions for customers.
  • Coordinate and communicate all required network/infrastructure changes to wider linear team under the direction of external IT support vendors.
  • Basic systems administrator support across core systems used by Linear.
  • M­­­­­anagement and support of cloud PABX system, associated devices and software.
  • Tracking of all Linear IT assets via asset management system.
  • Assistance with creation and review of IT SOPs

Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally, should have a tertiary qualification in IT with 1 years’ practical experience in a similar support role.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic Systems Administrator experience across various platforms, specifically within Google G-Suite Apps
  • Capable of delivering superior customer support at all times
  • Experience with assisting in the resolution of hardware and software issues
  • Understanding of network infrastructures
  • Familiar with Service Level Agreements with experience facilitating support from external IT support vendors to end users.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels across an organisation.
  • Must have outstanding attention to detail and be able adhere to relevant documentation standards while maintaining a strong quality focus.
  • Superior relationship building skills.
  • Prior experience in a clinical research setting will be highly regarded but not essential.
