Maintenance Manager

Anglican Church Grammar School, known internationally as “Churchie”, has an exciting vision to ensure that the School remains at the forefront of boys’ education.  Building on a foundation over 100 years Churchie has pursued a philosophy of preparing students to be well-balanced men, contributing positively to the community.

Churchie is currently seeking highly motivated candidate for the following role to contribute to the vision of the Making of Men for the global community.

Maintenance Manager

Reporting to the Manager – Property and Works, this role is a critical member of the Property and Works team by providing maintenance and preventative maintenance of the School’s buildings and property.

This role will drive effective planning, scheduling and execution of the School’s maintenance activities and building projects.

To be successful in this role you must hold relevant qualifications or trade qualifications with 5 years demonstrated experience in a maintenance, preventative maintenance position with an ability to think strategically to support the coordination of the School’s maintenance activities and building projects. 

In addition to sound technical knowledge the person must possess

  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to read and understand building plans;  follow specific, technical specifications and instructions; and apply technical expertise to the management and delivery of the project activity in a timely manner;
  • Excellent time management skills and be able to coordinate multiple projects with conflicting demands and deadlines.

This position requires excellent communication skills as the incumbent will be required to effectively direct people to undertake work activities, and interact with vendors and suppliers. The incumbent must also be willing to respond to property matters outside normal hours.

All staff at Churchie are expected to support the philosophies of the School, must either hold or be able to obtain a Blue Card and/or be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.
