Quality Systems and Governance Manager

Operating across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, John Holland is a fully integrated infrastructure, building and rail group. John Holland manages the prestigious Country Regional Network (CRN) which makes us the first accredited private rail transport operator of a government owned heavy rail network in NSW, and one of only three accredited managers of public rail infrastructure in the State. The scope involves the operation, management and upgrade of country railway lines across NSW including 2,700km of operational freight and passenger lines, and 3,100km of non-operational lines. 

We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Systems and Governance Manager to join our Country Regional Network (CRN) project team. Partner with the business to ensure a strategic direction and effectively implement Assurance Framework and associated program. Lead, develop and implement effective and appropriate risk management methodology across the Business. This role will contribute to John Holland CRN strategies for continual improvement of quality systems. This role will also be key in maintaining RIM accreditation with ONRSR by implementing effective assurance management.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead the assurance and improvement function including risk, quality and system safety management
  • Develop and implement assurance framework
  • Identify and implement new technology, strategies and systems to improve processes and performance
  • Utilise outcome of investigations and audits to identify improvements in processes and implement them
  • Implement and monitor audit and mentoring programs
  • Effectively and efficiently manage interfaces with neighbouring agencies/owner/operators
  • Contribute to improve the asset management practice
  • Provide reports to stakeholders on overall assurance performance of JHRCRN
  • Develop and implement System Architecture to assure effective and efficient process mapping
  • Influence the business in Assurance and Improvement ownership

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

  • A Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the Rail Infrastructure industry within a similar role
  • Lead auditor certification desirable, not essential
  • System assurance experienced gained within the rail industry is desirable, not essential
  • Leadership and people management skills with multidisciplinary teams
  • Detailed working knowledge of TfNSW environment
  • Financial and commercial management including meeting budgets
