Finance Manager

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Manager to join our NSW/ACT region, based in Pyrmont, NSW. You'll be responsible for establishing, administering, managing and monitoring the general accounting, tax activities and the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results to ensure successful execution of all finance and administration related function operations and services and ensure statutory and compliance requirements are met.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support the Regional General Manager and Business Unit Senior Leadership Team in: project and business unit financial performance analysis, project financial reviews/investigations, management or project issues and cash flow initiatives and overhead and tender cost control
  • Facilitate finance process and system improvements and embed policies, systems and processes to support effective finance service delivery and provide financial analysis, insights and value-add business advice to RGM & SLT whilst maintaining an acceptable level of risk
  • Provide leadership to create effective teams and ensure all accounting and office staff are trained and competent to achieve position objectives
  • Oversee the preparation of financial information and reports
  • Conduct throrough performance management evaluation for direct and indirect reports
  • Maintain strong internal and external stakeholder management

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you demonstrate the following;

  • Finance Management experience in senior Corporate and Project Financial Management roles
  • Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor level) in discipline relevant to function area including Finance/Commerce/Accounting/Business
  • CA or CPA qualification and ideally post graduate qualification in business administration/business management, Commerce or Law
  • Significant relevant management experience at a senior manager level.
  • 10-15 years' finance &/or commercial experience.
  • Experience in the construction industry, major heavy industrial organisation or adjacent sectors to construction
  • Proven track record of establishing processes and driving innovation
