Cotton Australia represents the interests of over 1,400 cotton farming families in NSW and Queensland and works to protect the interests of its growers and raise awareness of the positive contributions of the cotton industry to our nation.
In this ever changing agricultural environment this dynamic organisation is looking for an experienced Policy Officer.
The position will involve working closely with growers and their representatives to develop and implement policy at a State and Federal level with the aim of protecting the interests of growers.
The successful candidate is likely to work across a broad range of policy areas relevant to the cotton industry particularly stewardship of chemicals and biotechnology and biosecurity. A key role is facilitating feedback on research priorities from growers to the R&D Corporation.
Our successful candidate is likely to have tertiary qualifications in an area such as science, agriculture or environment.
Experience in policy development will be highly regarded, along with superior communications and facilitation skills. A passion for agriculture is a must.
The position is full-time, and will be based in Cotton Australia’s Sydney (Mascot) offices. Some travel will be required. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated, based on experience.
